In addition, we honor a New Member of the Year, Emerging Professional of the Year, Business Development Professional of the Year and Marketing Professional of the Year. Please fill out a nomination form below to nominate a deserving SMPS member you know by Friday, March 22.
There is no cost for a nomination and the nominee could win a complimentary registration to the SMPS Boston Boot Camp, SMPS Northeast Regional or National Conference.

SMPS Boston is seeking qualified and energetic people to take a leadership role in developing and advancing the Chapter’s education, networking, and business development opportunities for its members. This is a great chance to work with current and future Marketing and Business Development leaders. Serving as a Board of Directors member can help advance your career, bring visibility to your firm, and create valuable and lasting connections.
The following positions are open on the 2024 – 2025 Board of Directors. Each position will serve a two-year term from 9/1/24 – 8/31/26, with the exception of the Vice President/President-Elect, who will serve a three-year term from 9/1/24 – 8/31/27. Terms start on September 1, however, the incoming board will meet approximately two to three times during the summer for training, strategic planning, and goal setting for the upcoming program year. One of those days will be our Summer Planning session scheduled for July 18, 2024.
We are seeking to fill the following positions:

Let SMPS Boston Cover the Cost of Becoming a Fellow
SMPS Boston is proud to offer need-based scholarships to help our Certified Professional Services Marketers (CPSMs) ascend to Fellows status (FSMPS). If you are an SMPS Boston member, and your company does not cover the cost of the Fellows application ($250.00), SMPS Boston is here to help!
Eligibility
To be considered for a Fellows Scholarship, you must be an active SMPS Boston member and commit to writing an article on your experience of becoming an SMPS Fellow for the SMPS Boston blog within one month of being recognized for your achievement at the annual Build Business conference. To be considered for the Fellows designation you must:
- Have 15 years’ experience as a marketer and/or business developer in the A/E/C industry
- Have been a member of SMPS for at least 10 of the previous 15 consecutive years and currently be a member in good standing
- Have held a current CPSM certification designation for a minimum of five years
Due Date
Submissions are accepted anytime prior to the Fellows application deadline established by SMPS National (usually mid to late April).

One way we do this is by offering up to two scholarships for SMPS Boston members to attend the national conference, the premier business development, marketing, and management conference for design and building industry professionals, hosted by SMPS. You must be an SMPS Boston member in good standing to receive a scholarship. As a scholarship recipient, you commit to writing an article about your conference experience for the SMPS Boston blog by October.

This is a rolling application so applications will be reviewed in advance of the event and scholarship recipients will be notified at least one month in advance.

SMPS Boston is committed to providing extreme value to our members. One way we do this is by offering one scholarship for SMPS Boston members to attend The Pinnacle Experience, a conference hosted by SMPS for senior level professionals. Apply today to join an intimate group of A/E/C marketing leaders to be inspired and learn how we truly are transforming business through marketing leadership.
The Pinnacle Experience is a symposium-style learning opportunity for senior marketing leaders. During this thought-provoking event, you will discuss fresh ideas, exchange unique perspectives with other marketing and business development leaders, and learn about and share inspiring successes. You’ll be challenged by thought provoking speakers, addressing a variety of factors associated with setting strategic direction and leading successful firms.
The SMPS Boston Pinnacle Scholarship covers the full cost of registration, valued at $949. Recipients are responsible for their own travel and hotel costs.
Eligibility
You must be an SMPS Boston member in good standing with significant experience (10-15+ years) and serve as the “first chair” for leading your firm’s marketing and business development efforts. This may include CEOs, CMOs, directors, principals, vice presidents, and SMPS Fellows.
As a scholarship recipient, you commit to sharing the knowledge you gained with SMPS Boston members by participating in a Senior Marketers Roundtable discussion in the 2021/2022 program year.

This is a rolling application so applications will be reviewed in advance of the event and scholarship recipients will be notified at least one month in advance.

Let SMPS Boston Cover the Cost of Becoming a CPSM
SMPS Boston is proud to offer need-based scholarships to help our members become Certified Professional Services Marketers (CPSM). If you are an SMPS Boston member, and your company does not cover the cost of the application and CPSM exam testing fees, SMPS Boston is here to help!
The SMPS Boston CPSM Scholarship covers the full cost of the application and exam fees, valued at $500. Scholarship recipients will be reimbursed upon passing the exam.
Eligibility
You must be an active SMPS Boston member to receive a scholarship and must commit to writing an article on a CPSM-related topic for the SMPS Boston blog within one month of passing the exam.
